When Europe's first program in Sustainable Biotechnology starts in the summer of 2010, it happens on Danish soil.
The students will be spending their time in Ballerup close to Copenhagen, when Aalborg University opens an entirely new type of international engineering program in one of the areas that is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years.
The new Sustainable Biotechnology program is a Master’s program, i.e., a two-year graduate program for students who already have a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
The program will give students a thorough understanding of areas such as biotechnology, refining of biomass, applied microbiology, and environmental technologies, and the students themselves can choose to focus on the molecular biological or the process oriented part of sustainable biotechnology.
