On Tuesday April 27, 2010 at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, the University Technology Network will be hosting its second “by invitation only“ matchmaking event.

The members of the University Technology Network have chosen new research in the fields of Biotechnology and Medical Technology as the focus of this event.

There will be 25 presentations encompassing new findings in these fields of interest made by researchers from the three participating universities.

This represents a considerable increase in the number of presentations in comparison to the 14 made at the first event hosted in January 2009.

QUALIFIED NETWORKING – THE ROUTE TO NEW PARTNERSHIPS

The best match between researchers and companies is rarely a random happenstance.

This is why the primary goal of the University Technology Network’s matchmaking event is to facilitate the networking process by providing a venue for qualified potential partners to meet and collaborate - forming relationships that can lead to the future commercialization of research findings.

“The feedback regarding the first matchmaking event was exceedingly positive - resulting in 71 matches. During the five month period following the event - 30 of the 71 matches between companies and university researchers culminated in a dialog regarding future collaboration. Without the Matchmaking Day meetings, the establishment of these relationships would not have occurred. It is with great satisfaction that we see the forthcoming event as yet another opportu-nity for us to strengthen the dialogue between the universities in western Denmark with Danish as well as foreign companies”, quote - Rasmus Køhler Fischer, from the Dept. of IPR and Technology Transfer at the University of Southern Denmark.

We are providing an opportunity for you to be introduced to new research findings that have the potential for commercialization.

"Meetings between companies and researchers with the potential to evolve into a profitable partnership are few and far between. This is why we view the invitation from the University Technology Network as a unique opportunity to discuss new research-based knowledge within our scopes of interest that are imperative for the further growth and development of our company.”, quote from Carsten Fredsbo, managing director for the business development and investment company MDBC.
