The newly established Carlsberg Energy Research Prize is awarded to Frederik Krebs, Senior Scientist at Risø DTU

Frederick Krebs has received the Carlsberg Energy Research Prize 09 in recognition of his research in polymer solar cells. Frederik Christian Krebs is 39 years old and works at Risø DTU within the Solar Energy Programme.

The prize of 100,000 DKK is awarded to one person and can not be applied for.

At the awarding ceremony Povl Krogsgaard-Larsen, CEO of Carlsberg A/S and The Carlsberg Bequest to the Memory of Brewer J.C. Jacobsen, said:

- Dr. Frederik Christian Krebs initiated research in the field of plastic solar cells in 2001 as a young talented scientist, and since then he has managed to inspire a large number of young scientists, and he is now head of an impressive research group comprising senior scientists, PhD- students, and guests. Dr. Frederik Christian Krebs has developed his research interest from basic material science and applied energy research into a highly recognized research programme representing one of the most promising technologies regarding sustainable energy.
